If you can write an email you can create a blog!  With this simple and easy to use editor you can create a fantastic blog to act as a diary about your thoughts and feelings or to share your experiences in Foster Care with the rest of the world. You can use the different editing tools to create a formatted text and you can also share images and links to other sites.

 

The tools that are used:

 

To Make characters Bold, highlight the text that you want to make bold and select "B".  To make characters italic, highlight the text and select "I" and to underline your text, highlight the text that you would like to underline and select "U", to strikethrough the text, highlight the text you would like to strike through and select "ABC" from tools.

 

To change alignment, there are four options, Right align, which aligns the text to right margin, Center, which aligns text to center, left align which aligns text to Left margin and Justify which aligns the text in the middle of both margins by character space.

To stylize the fonts, you will have to select from the "Styles" drop down menu ( this is a css option and it has been deactivated). The next formating tool is "Paragraph" which sets the different sizes of font by paragraph style, such as Header sizes 1-6,

Paragraph which is normally 12pt,

Address which is italic,
 and preformated. 

 

You may select a font family from the drop down options to change the font style from Arial to Times New Roman and Then there is manual "Font Size" drop down menu, simply highlight the text you want to change and make your selection in the drop down box going from to 8 pt to 36 pt.

 

The scissor icon is to cut, to do this you would highlight the text that you would like to remove and select the "cut" to remove the text and temporarily copy. To copy text, you would highlight the text or image you want to copy and select the double sheet of paper icon, and to paste the text that you cut or copied, you would select the icon that looks like a clip board.

 

The next icon is the "insert picture" this looks like a photo of a tree. You will have to add the url or web address of the image you would like to add. The binoculars are for finding a specific word or strand of text in a document, by using this tool, you will be able to search through a large text and find the text or phrase you are looking for without having to read every word. The Icon to the right of the binoculars is the tool for find and replace, this tool is used when you want to replace a word in a document. It will search and find words in documents and then you may replace all instances of this text or phrase at once then, replace all entries with another word or phrase.

 

The next Tool is for creating unordered lists or bullets with images and ordered lists or bullets with numbers.

The next tool is to outdent items behind margin

The next tool is used to indent text or tab in 5 pts

      1. First
      2. Second
      3. Last

 

The arrow icon is to revert or reverse changes or edits.

 

To add hyperlink or email address, simply highlight the text you want connected to the URL and press link icon and add url or website location. The link is for creating hyperlinks to web pages or email addresses

 

The broken link is for disabling link. Simply highlight the link that you want to disable and click broken link icon. The anchor icon is to create anchors to certain lines of text in the document such as bottom, top, or headers as a courtesy to readers.

 

The Calendar icon is for inserting the date (2010-07-14) to the blog and the clock icon is for inserting the time (22:57:20). The A with the line under it is for selecting font color and the abc with highlighter is to highlight text background a certain color. Simply, select the text you want to highligh and select a color from the color table. The line icon is for inserting a horizontal line


 

and the eraser icon is for erasing formated text. The ohm symbol or upside down horse shoe is for selecting special characters and symbols such as ®♥•∞ and the smiley face is for selecting emoticons to represent moods such as KissCoolFoot in mouthTongue out
